White composite fillings, also known as “tooth colored fillings” are a tooth repair material designed to be inconspicuous and have a natural appearance. They closely match to the color of your teeth. They look more natural than darker amalgam fillings that are more easily noticed. They are made of ceramic and plastic compounds that chemically adhere to teeth. They are used to fill the decayed areas of the teeth or to help repair chipped or broken teeth. They are often used in the front teeth to help patients have a natural smile.

In our clinic, all fillings are made with white composite filling material.

Preventive Treatment

We recommend that you have your teeth checked and cleaned every six months to maintain your healthy tooth structure and beautiful smile. In the exams, it is possible to recognize the caries and decays in the early period and make the necessary treatment. During the check, your dentist will clean the dental plaque and bacteria on your teeth, disinfect the areas with caries and make the appropriate fillings to your teeth in order to protect the remaining tooth structure.

White Composite Filling Application Process

Your doctor will apply local anesthesia to your gums and teeth near the filling area. Once the area is numb, she/he will clean the decayed or damaged part of the teeth. Then, she/he will use a substance to open up the pores of your teeth for a stronger bond between the tooth tissue and the composite filling material. Thereafter, the filling material will be applied in thin layers and hardened with light. It is smoothed in the most appropriate way and polished for a better look and comfortable bite.
